The diagrams for wiring the feeding loom for the electric sunroofs is very clear but…not enough for connecting the wires in reality !
I know where the windows ECU (with the both connectors) is situated under the glovebox ; I also know where the fuse (30 Amp) is situated on the satellite fusebox.
But how must I connect ? Must I plug in in a connector, or have I to shrimp on an existent wire ? that is not clear for me at all.
Black, red-brown and white-green wires Windows-ECU at left side (2 connectors one above the other) Fusebox satellite with 30 Amp fuse for electric sunroofs
On a picture you can see the thicker black feed (the ground ?) which is very short ; is this perhaps connected to another ground in the ceiling ?
The mince white-green connects to the windows ECU under the glovebox (but where and how ?)
The red-brown connects to the fusebox (but again : how and where ? )
Thanks you very much for guiding these amateur (someone has made a you-tube-film or else ?)
The sunroof ecu is above the headliner by the front overhead light (between the sun visors). It is not clear to me what you are asking? Where are those wires in your first picture located?
The 3 wires in this picture are at the other end plugged in the great connector on the sunroof ECU (see new picture).
Left connector with other end from the 3 wires
Note that each wire at the other side end in a single spade contact (first picture in original thread).
When I know how to connect those 3 ends I can make a test for the electric handling of the sunroof switches and motors, before building in all the components in the ceiling.
Either those wires are there for a reason that no longer exists (perhaps an early set up of a single sunroof?) or they are for something else. Did you find them connected to anything when you removed the headliner?
It is odd because those same color wires are also in connector C383 which is the connector on the left of your picture of the sunroof ecu.
I suspect they are extra but I would probably test to see if there is power on the White/Green or Green/Red wires. Black is almost certainly a ground... or was intended to be a ground. When testing for power find a ground known to be good (not that black wire).
I bought from a Disco breaker on E-bay in one single packet the 2 sunroof motors, switches in front, single switch for second row places, the sunroof-ECU with al necessary wiring looms interconnecting all these components each to another.
That ‘s the reason why those 3 wire ends where disconnected by the E-bay reseller. And indeed the other end of these 3 wires are in the connector you discribed with a joined technical drawing.
So I just must know where exactly (and how) to connect the black wire end (ground), the red-brown wire end (live) and the white-green wire end (on the windows-ECU).
Anyway the colour codes do match with these of the sunroof wiring diagrams from the Haynes manual for the Disco1, joined as pictures in the thread starter.
Yesterday when I intended to test the buttons and both motors, I saw that the 3 bespoken wires came forth out the bespoken connector : in the wiring loom, bought on E-bay where the male and female connectors included ; I didn’t notice it at first glance. So I found the meeting female connector in the passengers footwell (LH direction). Plugged in and contact switched on, all buttons and motors where working. So I have now a spare meeting female connector. The pictures show the meeting connector in the footwel.
Other question now : how can I bring LEDs in these buttons ? As you see on the pictures there are 2 spare contacts ; but I cannot make up how to connect the wires from the LED inside the button. I read the explanation for the method in de buttons from the Disco ery II ; these buttons have not tabakken the same building up as these in a Discover I.
Has someone an idea or already done this job ?

Hello,
Here are some sharper pictures from the disembled switch.ˋ-
More inspection learned me that the middle “bridge” functions as connection between the ground contact at both sides from the switch ; so certainly not advised to connect any switch lighting on it.
But there is a smal rectangular opening just against the edge of the switch bottom : I’ll try to feed the LED- lighting (2 tiny wires) through this opening.
