Default I spoke too soon… Cruise Control

Well, after installing a new (used) vacuum pump and all new vacuum lines, I had functioning CC. For one afternoon. Went to use it this morning and nothing. So I pulled the plug and jumped the appropriate terminals, and the pump is sucking and the diaphragm is moving. I guess maybe the old CC module might have died? Anyone have any idea of what the issue could be if not the module? And if it is the module, am I to understand that a DII unit is the better way to go?

Thanks!

Just a thought, how about the cc switch(ERR2622) at the brake pedal???

Switch Cruise - Control - Brake (Genuine Part # ERR2622) - Land Rover switches/control unit/actuators from Atlantic British

I had one of these cause odd problems with the cc.

I replaced the cruise ECU with a DII unit, and previously all the vacuum lines and the pump, and it worked - sort of. It set a speed, but wouldn't hold it with any resistance like a headwind or hill. So, I thought the only part I haven't replaced that could be responsible is the bellows. It has some signs of cracking, so as an experiment I used some silicone to thinly coat the bellows, helping to seal any cracks seen or unseen. One 500 mile trip later, and the cruise is operating as it should! Now I know that a new bellows will resolve the last of the CC issues.

This is a great forum; 10k miles in four months of driving has only been possible because of the knowledge and advice of the members on here. Thanks everyone!

Default Cruise issues..

Question on cc troubleshooting. Anyone have or have seen instructions like a flow chart that will assist finding and fixing CC?

I have replaced a lot of hose but a help would be .. like - switch on, voltage should be ** at this location.. if so vacuum at this location should be ** with unit on.. if so etc etc..

I have studied the rave but it is not giving values or relating events when activated.

Thanks!

DUH!!! I just saw the links in the above message.. sorry ( leaving up ,, in case )
