Iacv problem returns, can I temporarily bypass it?
So I put a new iacv on and it worked for a day. Next morning when I started it up, idle went back up to like 1500. I have read through certain diy re learn things on here and they simply don't work, at least not permanently. I can trick it into idling perfect if I do the whole turn key on/off unplug/ plug back in scenario but it only works until I turn it off. Anyway is there some method to bypass this dumb thing until I can get it into the dealer for an adaptive value reset?
fwiw...I went through this too(still am....havent had a chance to travel to a dealer or elsewhere) but this worked for me >>> go through the motions as you have done, and when the engine is warmed up & running....just unplug the pia iacv.....and leave it unplugged>>> you will likely need to just touch the gas pedal when you start the engine cold but as soon as it warms up a little it'll be fine....you can also adjust the throttle cable a little too if needed to speed it up some. I have driven mine about 5000 miles with it this way......it took 4500 miles before I got a code for "open circuit" on the iacv.
Just find an Indy shop to reset seems to start at $20 and go up for the reset
You will not want to drive it getting 8- MPG or less
This happened to me 2 times 2 different ecm, my TPS was getting shorted causing the issue, fixed TPS problem and had ecm reset issue has not returned
