Default Ignitin off, wipers, heater blower, gear shift lights on??

Hoping some one might be able to help me. This is my first time posting. I have a problem with my electrical. With my ignition off, I can turn on my windshield wipers, turn on the ac/heater blower motor, and my gear shift lights stay on with my headlights off. I have tested the ignition electrical contacts and they seem to be turning power on appropriately. Has anyone else had this problem.....

Sounds like a bad ignition switch.

I pulled the plastic off the colum, and used an electrical tester on the contacts on the back side of the ingintion. With each position of the key, power turned on to the appropriate contracts, so it seemed. Maybe I am testing it wrong?

But, with the key off are the circuits still live?
Everything after the switch should be dead with the switch off.

With the switch off, one lead was hot. I am assuming it is the hot lead to the ignition. The other three contacts become hot with each position of the key being turned. the last contact becomes hot when starting the engine.

On the back of the switch there is 4 terminals. Is they're supposed to be
a hot wire there?

It sure seems like it is an ignition switch. i noticed my windows still work with the key off. But my radio does not. Anyone know where a good wiring diagram is located for the ingnition. By the way thanks for the quick responses Spike555 and Disco Mike.....

Go to the tech section and find the RAVE manual, it is the repair manual for these trucks.
It is a free download.
