Default Inexpensive shock suggestion?

I am new to the forum and new to Land Rovers. I need to replace the shocks on my Discovery, and was wondering if anyone had tried any of the cheaper ($30-$40) shocks and had any luck. I'm on a very tight budget.
I mostly drive the asphalt jungle these days, but when I do hit the trails its usually just dirt roads with some light bumps, low hills, and some mud. I don't need anything meant for heavy duty off roading.

Thanks,
Tim

About the cheapest I have tried are monros, when they had the buy 3 get one free promo last summer. They are on my 96 and seem fine. I believe total cost was about 200 bucks or around there.

My brother has some gabriel shocks(35-ish a piece) he got at autozone on his rover, they are ok, nothing great. Stay away from the es1000 pro comps, absolute junk. The es9000 are much better, but I dont know how much they are

Gabriels from AutoZone, been on my truck 3 years and they work just fine.
