Best inexpensive tire for 2001 Disco 2
Guys, getting my 2001 Disco 2 back on the road with used engine after three years of sitting. I am the original owner and I had to wait until I had the funds to get it running again. I need to know the best inexpensive all season tires to put on the stock rims. I loved my old Michelins, however, need to save bucks because of new cooling system, etc. Let me know.

What is your current tire size? I would recommend checking out Kumho Road Venture for All Season and low price, they have a really good warranty and ride really well. Put them on my wife's LR3, before she traded it, and put 10k miles on them. They still looked new and rode extremely well.

You could try going with a used tire unitl you get a little more cash together. Usually you can find 2 or even 3 good tires with about 70-75% tred left. If you've got time to do a little running around to severl different shops you can find the 3rd or 4th one. I found a great deal on the Michelin Latituide all weather. The shop had 6 to chose from. I took the best 4 they had and then found 2 more at another shop. All 6 had the same amount of tred left (about 70%) for about the cost of one brand new. That will get me to my next deployment, and the birth of my daughter, then I will look for something new to complement the lift I am saving for. Thats my advice for saving a few bucks. In this economy you gottat do what you can!

Thanks guys!! Yeah, I have an old 95 bmw 525 wagon that I have been using kumho tires on. Love 'em. Last long and give a great ride. Tire rack has them for a good price. I think that will be the tire for the disco. It's funny when I had the truck brand new, it came with those good year's that I hated, then I put the Michelin's that I had on my 98 disco and could totally tell it was a better tire. I have nothing bad to say about kumhos. After have owned a 67 series 2a, 89 county, two discos, it will be good to get the black beauty on the road again. Plus I can't wait to take the porter cable DA polisher to it to bring up the finish. I will be in touch for other questions as my best friend who owns his own auto shop is doing the work. Thanks again, Hutch
