Default Interesting question

I was just watching a few land rover youtube videos and I thought to my self" which is the best off road?" Is it the DI, DII, Defender, LR2-3-4? what do you think?

D1/d90/and RRC are all very similar. All three better than the other trucks mentioned offroad in stock form. D2 is not a bad platform but it takes a lil more work IMHO. Just my. 02 cents.

That's exactly what I was wondering, If you had an unlimited amount of money... which would you opt for? Just for fun, considering all of these post are completely serious. I'm not just asking about all the cool new advances in technology. I'm asking about stock technology and you and the mud.

Friends of ours in Costa Rica have two Defender 110s (5 door and pickup), both diesel. First LR I ever drove, so I'd say Defender just because of that. Seriously, I'd take whichever one had a diesel, so easy to drive in rough terrain even with a manual. Although our Disco is a lot more comfortable.

I'd take a 4 door 110 in a heartbeat

Stock off-road? Mostly likely one of the new models with all the electronic wizardry.
But if you compare the price of one of those with an older model suitably modified and the cost for those modifications, it's a different matter when you look at the cost-benefit-cost of ownership equation.
