Default Intermittent "no crank" still!

Well, I've been reading and trying, but still have an intermittent 'no crank' condition. I have a '96 Disco. I don't have a spyder (I tore the dash apart today to check).
I tried the immobilizer bypass as described and got a crank and no firing condition, so I reconnected the wires.
I have no fob.
The ring around the key is red.
I never get any sounds or lights flashing with locking or unlocking the doors.
Now I'm going to check the switch at the brake, and hook up a toggle at the neutral switch to try next time it won't crank.
Any other ideas?

go through the fuses under the dash, and below the steering wheel. I did find quite a bit of corrosion inside the computer unit under the hood, next to the washer fluid bottle and fender. Electrical manual should show everything that is in the circuit, and where it is on the truck. Takes a bit to get used to the way the info is laid out.

Have you checked the ignition switch? Not the tumbler, the switch. Remove it and check it by turning it with a screw driver. Pretty basic troubleshooting.......

All the fuses and the spades look good. Thanks.

It doesn't behave like a bad switch, but I will keep some tools with me so I can pull it at check during the next occurrence.

I am having a similar issue with my 95 Disco. My mechanic and I were near pulling out hair and fuses. Pulled fuses then after months of poking around and my mechanic telling me that the spark wasn't getting to the distributor, I started looking toward the coil and its leads. When I have no turnover I leave the ignition on and pull on the coil lead wires. Starts everytime. Somewhere in that wire pack is a bad connection. Being that is an average 20 degrees outside and no garage I haven't tracked down the source of this bad connection yet. But maybe start there, hope this helps.
