could be that the adaptive valves are still set up for the original MAF. Or, the aftermarket is crap. your MAF reading didn't smell right. regardless, glad to hear you are up and running again and have a safe road trip !

From what I have been hearing, the adaptive valves should have "adapted" after the 200 miles I put on the new MAF. So either the valves needed a hard reset for the new sensor or the new sensor was crap for sure. I'm going to keep it laying around in the chance that the original dies again. At that point I will take it to the stealership for them to reset it. We are pretty pumped about the trip! We are hoping to get into some snow. Thats why we are taking the truck instead of our new GMC. I've got the snow chains ready!

Worst case I have a spare MAF if it gives you problems on your trip.
