Jacking Up Transmission
I’m about to change my rubber transmission mounts, which requires lifting the automatic transmission from where it sits in order to get the old ones out and put the new ones in.
Is it as simple as putting a floorjack underneath the pan/transfer case and cushion it with some 2x4s and jacking it up?
What should I disconnect or remove in order to not damage anything?
Is there even enough room?
Information on this is slim compared to changing engine mounts, which I have done. Only the engine has no ceiling, other than the truck’s hood, so it was simple to jack up.

Well, Onon, this doesn't answer your question directly, but if I were to do those (I'm not) I might just pay a mechanic and have them done in an hour. They do that type of work all the time with all the right tools (and tricks).
