Just found out that I've been using Dex Cool.
Was working in the garage and noticed that I have been using dex cool antifreeze. How screwed am I? Also what antifreeze works with rovers?
Thanks Collin
Thanks Collin
I like fireworks...!!!!
Dexcool is not as forgiving towards lack of maintenance as the "green stuff" is. You will not kill anything using Dexcool as long as you monitor it's conditions regularly and change it when needed.

Hahahaha, I'm going to do an oil change on my dads rover and my rover, so mine as well drain the dex and use the "green stuff". What is the "green stuff" and can i get it at auto zone, advance pepboys?
Thanks for all the input

According to AllData...
Engine coolant Special Blend Ethylene Glycol Use an ethylene glycol bases anti-freeze (containing no methanol) with non-phosphate corrosion inhibitors suitable for use in aluminum engines to ensure the protection of the cooling system against frost and corrosion in all seasons

Back in the days, I tore down a rotary engine that I got for free. I found that it had a nice hole from from the water passage, in the aluminum housing. The owner of that engine never replaced the coolant.....the water turn sooo corrosive it ate it alive!!!!
