Default just got a land rover

hi everyone, i’ve just gotten a 1996 land rover discovery SD 4.0L with 70,000 miles on it. it’s running and driving perfectly well now, i got it for free about a month ago as it was not running.. (lucky break because my truck engine had just blown several weeks before). i’m unaware of the price of this vehicle because i can’t seem to find any for sale near me. i was just wondering what anyone has to say about pricing or tips of ownership or anything at all, i’m new to land rover entirely. i would just like to know more about what i have. thanks for reading

1996 discovery SD
70k miles
black with leather interior/sunroof
power windows / locks

First thing you have to do is download a set of repair manuals. Makes a world of difference when something stops working Then check the front swivel ***** for leaking. If they are leaking, make sure you keep them full of lubricant. hey are a pain to seal back up and if the bearings or axles wear out from lack of lubricant, it gets real spendy.
I paid $600 for my 97 Disco 1 and had to tow it home. messed with it for a month until I found the wiring problem. That was 4 years ago. Since then I have rebuilt the front axle (leaked like crazy) brake lines (love that winter salt) fixed the power windows a few times, you get the idea. I love the truck as it is a blast off road and goes just about anywhere I want it to. Around here you can't touch one for under around $3,000 and that is if they need work.
