its a beautiful model! 96 white with only 99k miles.
as far as i know everything is working great on it(as farrrrr as i know) EXCEPT, I needs a valve adjustment job.
Can someone tell me what other potential hazards can come along with that. besides headgasket replacement, sunroof leaks, etc. you know the normal stuff.
What should I do immediately after taking it home? its probably going to need fluids and plugs changed. what else?
UPDATE:
purchased the car, it has zero leaks surprisingly, the diffs work, it has 98,000 miles. I’m wondering if I should put in a museum as an example. What should be done around 100,000 mile mark keeping in mind that it is a 20 something-year-old vehicle.

The best $100 I spent for my trucks was for a Land Rover shop manual. It has a check list of maintenance items, gives instructions for repairs, and includes sections to rebuild motors and transmissions, if you are so inclined. For the cost of two tanks of gas, it is really worth it. Discovery shop manual

Can’t go wrong with changing your fuel filter, cleaning your MAF sensor, new sparkplugs. Clean the breather hoses coming out of both valve covers, make sure they’re not gunked up.
Underneath, check your stabilizer bars in front and back to make sure the bushings are in good shape and not rotted away. I replaced all of them with new poly rubber and my truck is WAY less shaky.
The first expensive thing I wish I would have bought right after getting a disco is a new alternator.
It’s making a ticking noise when I drive it. The guy who I bought it from said the valves I need to be adjusted. He also had to valve gasket’s so I’m guessing he was intending on replacing those. What do you think?

Thanks so much I’ll be sure to look into all of those things. Luckily the guy put in a new alternator when he got it. I got a 96 disco with 98,000 miles on it. I’m wondering if I should just garage it… Put it in a museum maybe?

There was a ticking noise when the car was running, the previous owner had also bought valve seals and these round cylindrical pieces For the motor. I’m not quite sure what the cylindrical pieces are. I hope that helps
