Good info!! I'll try that tonight when I get home. I did have the radio on...

Got a return call a bit ago from Land Rover dealer with a number, we shall see...

OK. learned a few things. I started the truck and let it idle for about 20 min, and temp gauge sat at 1/2 and then jumped up to 3/4... No heat so maybe it is low on coolant(??) driving it home, roughly 45 miles, it never had a problem so... in the dark, I saw no brake lights, but yet the shifter unlocked from park. Bulbs or fuses(?) Radio continued to flash CODE and so I figured to just try the code I got from the dealer, and viola!! changed to radio stations. I tuned in to a station roughly 50 miles away with no problem, and then picked up weather! That makes me a happy camper!

Well not the lights or temp issues, but one thing at a time. And the heated seats work!! One step forward, 3 steps back I guess.

My thanks to WaltNYC for your help!

glad I could help.

Running 3/4 on the temp gauge for 45 miles is like playing with fire. Coolant level is critical on these. Particularly on a 'new to you' truck.

driving home (45 miles) it never got over 1/2 gauge, so I was surprised it jumped up that high last night. Maybe I have a bad hose, or coolant tank. Gonna add some pressure today and see what I find. my other Disco had a cracked coolant tank and only got hot under heavy use or pressure.. replaced tank and all was well. been driving it for 7 years, and about 130K miles.

I'd recommend an OBD monitor. The gauge is not particularly accurate. It'll also save you ton of time diagnosing various issues that will eventually pop up. It was the best $30 I spent on the truck.

Interesting thing happened today, I slid the radio out part way to tape a copy of the code onto the top of the radio case, and it started beeping at me. I slid it back in place and it continued to beep. I the retrieved the key and turned on the ignition, it stopped beeping. I tried the radio and it works fine. I am guessing I set off an alarm when I slid out the radio but how did it know I did that? I didn't unplug anything. Also my horn doesn't work. If it did, would it be making noise when the radio started beeping? maybe that is why the horn doesn't work. Somebody pulled a fuse or ??

Seems like I find more things whenever I touch this truck. Has way more stuff than my old truck...

** Update Coolant cap only holds 6 psi, and upper radiator hose has a bulge on the side next to the thermostat. Both are getting replaced., as is the thermostat with a 180 unit
