Ok well we put the sensor in and it didnt fix the gauge at all as a matter of fact it goes straight to the H on hot and and now doesnt come down. I unhook the wire and it does go to cold like it is supposed to so it is a good connection there, I have no more ideas, Im putting it in the shop today as I keep throwing parts at it and it is getting expensive and getting me no where. I thin it may have two issues one with electrical and one with cooling. The thing is the overheating deal didnt start until I got the alternator replaced. This is very frustrating especially when you rely on this veh for transportation and have no back up.

 

It could very well be something simple like your serpentine belt being routed around the pulleys incorrectly. Happens all the time.
If it is not routed like this then it is wrong.

 

We checked that already it is on there correctly.

 

Im always welcome to any other ideas. The bad thing is no one around here really knows much about them or how to work on them.

 

Funny thing is, we don't know what vehicle (year, model, miles...) you have or where you are located.
