Leaking sunroof?
All ive done so far on this forum is post problems, wasnt what I was hopnig! but hey ho
When we bought the 95 disco I checked for signs of previous leakage and all seemed fine but today we had our first torrential downpoor
my seat is wet, the drivers foot well is sodden and it all seems to be coming down the entire drivers side just above the doors so assuming its coming in through the sunroof seal? and then going to the lowest side
Im going to check the drain tubes first but it cant possibly be that easy? as I notice seal repairs elsewhere its probably that. any advice appreciated

Do you know how to check the drains for blockage?
The 2 main issues can be the drain tube being cracked or broken off from the sun roof pan or a plugged drain tube, my bet, based on what you described is a broken drain tube, sounds like it is time to pull down the head liner.
For what it is worth, you own a 16 year old truck, things will fail.

yeah very true its old just didnt want it to be all at once lol
I havent checked the tubes before ive just read the manual which says open the sunroof and have been told to try curtain wire, but until Im up there I wont know quite which bit Im looking at, can you describe where the drain tubes run? thanks

I feel blessed with my Disco when I read about all the sunroof leak problems people seem to have. My Disco is 14 years old, resides with me in a rainforest that averages 152 inches(more than 12 feet) of precipitation a year(about 6inches of snow is all), and my sunroofs do not leak.(knock on wood) I'm not sure why not...maybe the constant rain and cooler temps kept the drains cleared and flexible.

Pull the headliner out so you can gain proper access to the area involved. If it is drenched that bvadly, your tubes are probably cracked or off at the connection to the sunroof frame.
Mine also developed a small leak on the corner of the frame where the side and back pieces intersect. That joint is factory sealed with a bit of black caulking material. On mine, the caulking had lifted and a slight drip occurred.
Also, if your carpets got soaked, you need to ****** all that stuff out to let it dry properly. You need to get a good look under the carpets to see the condition of your floor pans. Most Disco's rust real bad there.
I would also pull the rear cargo area carpet and pad and take a look at that floor pan to see if you need to take some action back there. Most are rusty there as well.
Get used to working on it, it will become a full time job.
