I remember awhile back seeing a post about a guy doing LEDs in the all the switchs, but I cant seem to find the post anywhere.

 

I've tried this. I used SuperbrightLEDs as I'd gotten some lights there in the past and they'd done well. For some reason, the rover switches just hated them. They work half the time. I always pick up spare switches at junkyards just for the little incandescent lightbulbs in them. I'd stay incandescent for the interior, except the dome lights. Exterior is a different story. Just my experience. You can get the little incandescent bulbs from Rovahfarm for $3 per.

thanks guys, I wasnt sure what size the LEDs were for them to fit, I have plently of extra, I just find them to be very dim, so I thought about doing LEDs to brighten up the switches.

 

I might be missing something, but I'm not sure how you'd install those bulbs... The way the two leads work, it isn't even close to the little bases that hold the stock bulbs. What am I missing?

These are the ones I bought, the base is called NEOx, it's the 3mm version. Again, I wouldn't buy these ones because even though they're nice and cheap, only half worked. Good thing I ordered spares...

 

To install the regular bulbs you need to unwind the wires from around the base, pull the bulb, and reverse the procedure to install. It is tedious.

Please let us know how those LEDs work.

 

Holy crapoli. I can't even imagine. Not sure if you're referring to my LEDs. They work well, when they work. Bought a ton of them, half were duds, a quarter work intermittently and a quarter work perfectly. They're nice and bright, but not too bright. I'm half convinced it's just the rover switches that hate them. If you go the way of LEDs in the switches, POLARITY COUNTS. If it doesn't work at first, pull the bulb, rotate 180 degrees, and reinstall. I'll have to look into those little incandescent replacements, that would be a nice substitute, even if it's tedious to install them.
