On the old trucks I generally replace the starter with a newer unit from a d2.

^X2 fo sho. I bought a jy D2 starter for $10 and it went to the grave with the Rover. Next time let ALL the smoke out, make it throw sparks and catch fire. Then you can buy the Kia you've secretly admired.

Almost did. Hydrolock issue.

Kia, eh? My sister, after a very intensive google search that only someone with over a decades worth of graduate school education that garnered a master's degree in cultural anthropology can accomplish, came away with all the knowledge needed to make an informed, highly educated choice on a used car. After she found a mid-2000's Kia Sorento on Craigslist I offered to go with her the next day to go look at it. She couldn't wait. Along with her husband they go and look at it. They buy it. They bring it by my shop the next day for me to look over. Took it for a little drive. Awful rattling noise under moderate load. Ended up being the timing chain. As it was summer I asked sister if she checked the a/c and said po told her it just needs a charge. No problem. Happen to have some freon on hand. Pop the hood, look for lines.... hmm... can't find them. I'll just follow from compressor... wait... No compressor.

Most I've ever "won" was $7. Hoping he'll drop one in the box along with the packaging materials.

Cultural Anthropology eh, sounds mightily needed these days as I don't think we've gone much past Neolithic as a culture. Kia Telluride, you gotta be kidding me? Since when? How about Kia Siheung, that's in western South Korea. I'm gonna name a tiny Chevy s**t kicker that and sell it only in South Korea to see how they like it. Chevrolet Siheung - bang bang cowboy wannabes.
