Little box under pass seat 95 Disco 1 reads 14
While Im waiting for RAVE, actually looking for it on my computer, my patience has the best of me.
I was reading another post, and gotthe hint that this maybe the LR code reader for CEL . Is this correct? Without the RAVE where can I locate the code? Im getting a 14.
This is my last hurdle before inspection and Ive worked out a lot, this has me though...Thanks in advance and hell dont flame me too bad

code 14 is the coolant sensor.... are you having a hot start issue? check the conection of your fuel tempeture sensor its on the front right corner(standing facing the engine) of the engine. If the plug seemed loose and you reconect it you will have to disconnect the battery to reset your CEL(that is if that was the fix) if it wasn't the fix check your resitance on your sensor. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the quickie. I also had just found it here:http://www.robisonservice.com/servic...ouble.asp#1990
Now this is the sensor ON TOP of the intake as opposed to infront/aside the Tstat, water inlet. correct?

yes its the one to the right of the thermostat housing and directly behind the distributor. I had a hot start issue a while ago along with the same code and a loose connection turned out to be the problem. Goodluck
Not sure on the 95, but the 97 has two coolant temp sensors very near each other, near the thermostat. The one with a single wire is the gauge thermostat. The one with a two wire rectangular plug is the temp sensor that signals the ECM.
ok read the ohms across temp sensor on drivers side of the intake, behind Dizzy. at cold, it read 5k
Now I read 2.5 mega ohms on the sensor on the tstat ..
Im thinking that might be my culprit.

sounds likely... I think a 5k reading on the fuel temp sensor is in the normal resistance range (can't remeber if that's with a cold or hot engine) I am not sure what the normal range is for the engine coolant senor....be sure to check and clean your connections. More often than not the root of most of my problems on my '94 rover has been faulty or loose eletrical connections.
the sensors should read in the 5k range cold, work down as heat builds.. Im 99% sure this is it. I also need to replace the guage sender.
That sensor for coolants an expensive one...oh wait, this is a rover..
Another thing popped up, a low groan when climbing in low(1st gear).
