Default Looking for a brush guard for DI

I just want a used one. Anyone know where I could get one at a reasonable price? I'd prefer one with the lamp cages too. Thanks..

Scour the salvage yards and CL. I found mine after a few weeks of searching. Got it for $130 at a local salvage yard. Or you can always go to AB and pay $600+ for a new one.

You guys know the brush guards do more harm than good, right? If you rear end someone or nudge something with the brush bar it will fold back and smash your hood too. They may look nice but they're rather useless, really. You'd be far better off with an ARB bumper.

fish be right. stock guards are useless except for parking lot play. real bumpers with guards are expensive. only solution is to buy one off someone or get lucky at the yard.

i've had the stock brush guards for years until they rotted off my truck. but, to those that know, they look poserish and immediately say non-off road vehicle. there are always exceptions of course and i don't care what people think and my truck has never really been off road so....

Not really. There are other aftermarket bumpers but the ARB would probably be the cheapest. You might be able to find one used for $3-400. With an aftermarket bumper you get actual front protection, and more importantly a real front recovery point. But if you don't plan on going offroad and just want to keep shopping carts at bay a brush bar might work. Then again my friend didn't sustain damage off road from his brush bar. His hood got crumpled when someone backed into him.

Build or buy an off-road bumper with one built in. That is, if you ever plan on hitting anything bigger than a Safeway cart. What everyone here said is right, I call the stock ones "damage amplifiers". One good whack could take out your whole front end.

It's true, the stock, or like stock ones are mostly for show; I'm good with that. Theyre brush guards (light), not bumpers (heavy). If you want real protection; go for an ARB or similar. I had nothing on it before, and it looks awesome with it on. I don't plan on hitting anything with it on or off road. If I do, so be it. I just wanted something that looked good, that I could mount lights on, and offered some protection against...yes...brush. Either way, keep looking, it'll turn up.
