Looking for an A/C driver.
Hi guys, I am trying to get my truck up to snuff by going through some common issues. One of them being making the A/C work. Luckily I have a job at a car company and was able to refill the freon... well, for free. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. I was in over my head and sent it to the shop, which told me it needs an A/C driver. Part number AWR7154. It looks like the going rate is north of $500.
Just thought I would check and see if anyone had one floating around, or could find one for a bit less.
I'm taking the D1 for it's first long trip to Yosemite next month and wanted to make sure it was working and had all the fluids changed out. Thanks for the help!
Edit: Looks like Rimmer Bros. Are the best price at $400, Which I'll likely go with if no one here has a secret stash.

Is it broken or just worn because if it's just the copper bits they can be rehab'd pretty easily. Contact the two guys in my signature to see if they have one, it'll be as pristine as pristine gets.
Thanks a lot for the response. Paul was a no go, said he knows that he doesn't have that part laying around. Still waiting to see if Will has one. I'll swing by the shop today and see if I can grab the part and look at it. I presume that the copper are tabs that transfer the voltage and tell the compressor to kick on. Are they often just corroded, and is it much of a PITA to take apart? Previous owner made it seem like the A/C was intermittent and did best when moved to full blast, So it might be built up corrosion, or it might have just been on the verge of failure.

If you just need the actual A/C switch, it's available from the UK at www.brit-car.co.uk. This part fixed my A/C a while back. Their pricing is unbeatable and shipping actually isn't that expensive. They state 3+ weeks for shipping, but all of my items have arrived in 7-10 days. YMMV since the USPS is so screwed up at the moment.

I am not sure to be honest, but I was told by the mechanic that when they put power directly to the compressor it kicks on and blows cold air, and that they are not getting voltage otherwise when it is cut on. I'll try to get more specifics from them though. I would hope that was the issue just because that part is cheaper, haha.
That's the same issue I had. They could start the compressor with a direct power link. The switch couldn't make the connection, so I replaced it with a new one and I was back in business.
I tried to clean the old switch, but that was a complete failure on my part. I broke the tabs and couldn't get the casing back together.

As usual, this forum is amazing and helpful.
Next up: vague steering at top dead center, possible grease leak behind RR wheel, and blown stereo amp.
