Default Loose wire on AMR6429 Alarmunit Disco 1 V8i '97

Gents,

I have an issue with my alarm in my Discovery 1 V8i, built 97.

I have read and tried several possibilities but until now no succes.

My fob works fine, the door key codes work but still the immobilizer doesn't deactivate. The red led on the instrument panel also never shows if the immobilizer is active or not. I tried to bypass the immibilizer without succes. Not even sure if I have a "spider" cause when I removed my radio I couldn't see the little black box.

On the control unit the larger connector there is a thicker red wire coming out but was not connected to anything. Anybody any idea where this wire belongs

Thanks in advance

Rene

That "loose" wire is an antenna wire for the key fob remote...... that question gets asked often enough. Have you tried replacing the alarm unit with another? Being a 97 you'd want the ECU and alarm from a similar vehicle and as a matched pair. Contact either individual (Paul or Will) in my signature for those. I've been in your boat and swapped out both.
