Default Please Help - Loose wire behind brake pedal

I noticed a wire dangling today behind my brake peadal.

It is a grey connectir with two wires attached. I felt around behind the driver dash and pedals and there is absolutelt no place for this to connect.

Please help .... what is this connector???? Is it a diagnostic wire that is supposed to be tucked away????

My only hint is that today I noticed my driver's side window buttons on top of the door are no longer working. Maybe this is related or maybe this is a coincidence.

Looks like a light bulb socket. Like a 194 bulb would fit in there.

I followed the wire back and it looks like it shares the same harness with the diagnostics connector. Strange. So now I am thinking you might be right ... could this be a silly connector to stick in a light bulb for diagnostics. Hmmmm ....

If anyone out there has an LR2 (mine is 2008) ... plesae check behing your brake pedal to confirm. It would be very appreciated!

Default 2008 LR2 Interior Courtesy Light

There is actually an interior courtesy light down there. It seems like an odd place for one, but it brightens up the area around the gas and brake pedals when the driver's door is open.

The grey plastic socket in your photo looks like the bulb socket for this light. I'm attaching a photo showing how mine looks when the light is on. You have to stick your head under the dash to check it out.

Please let us know how this turns out.

Well I have the wiring for the light bulb but there is no plastic housing above the brake pedal. I just have the wiring. It must have been tied/taped up there and just came loose. At lease the mystery is solved, thanks!

Maybe this was an 'upgrade' between SE and HSE. I have the SE.

Regardless, I don't need a courtesy light there. I know which pedals are which

Many thanks!
