I hate to have you keep throwing parts at it.
How much is a TPS?
How far is the dealer?
They are going to charge you 1 hr labor just to start and thats goinng to be $100-120.

Well here is the good and bad news Spike. I tried the TPS test that spencer did and just removed it and no change in idle so I don't guess it is the TPS. But the bad news is when I took it off I broke the little plastic teeth inside so I get to buy a new one from AB for 85 plus shipping anyway. This is my DD and I am now stranded so this kinda sucks. I don't want to keep throwing money at it either. Running out of ideas.....

You can buy a TPS at AutoZone and save on shipping.
They might have to order it from their warehouse but at least you wont pay shipping.

I tried to find it on autozone's website and I couldn't. I just bought one on ebay for 36 with shipping. Be here in 4-5 business days so should be here by week's end. Starting to draw a blank on the problem. Do you think the ECU went bad?

If I can get my hands on one does it need to be reprogrammed or is it simple plug and play and drive (hopefully)?

It is a plug and play, but the truck may run rough/irratic for a few days until the ECU re-learns.
They are always adapting to your driving style to try and give you the most from the engine.

Ok. Sounds good. I will try to track down a cheap one (there is a pick and pull with four DI's nearby so I will go tomorrow and see what I can get) and I will try that as it is a cheap fix. Sorry I didn't see your post about the water earlier. No water. Been dry for awhile and I haven't had it out in any water. Rained the other day for a little while but she was under cover at the time.

So only local ECU from a junk yard is gonna be 250 clams. Looked everywhere and cheapest I could find is eBay for 100 bucks plus shipping. If I had hair I would pull it out at this point.

Just spoke to Justin at Lucky8 said if he has one in the back it runs about 100 bucks so he is gonna check. Told him what is going on and he said if I replace the IACV I need to have it put on testbook at the dealer to reset the values as the ECU is still trying to run off the old values with the new stepper motor. Input? Thoughts? Questions? Anyone?

Update*: Spoke to a reliable LR indie in Fort Worth. He confirmed what Justin at Lucky* said. He also has testbook available and will reset my ECU for 50 bucks. Taking it to him at 1300. Will update this evening.
