Default low fuel pressure

Well I checked my fuel pressure, and it is only 20psi at idle. The book calls for 37psi. I clamped off the return line, so I am guessing it is not the regulator, but the fuel pump. Any suggestions before I order a new one?

Can you point out where it says 37psi at idle? I could only find a spec for key on engine off psi...I searched the RAVE(guess not hard enough) last night for over an hour.

Filter is new, here is the specs from page five in the information section:

FUEL SYSTEM 3.9 V8i
Fuel system type .................................................. ............ Lucas 14CUX hot wire system electronically controlled
Fuel pump-make/type .................................................. .... ACX delco high pressure electrical, immersed in the
fuel tank
Fuel pump delivery pressure ............................................ 2.4-2.6 bar (34-37 lbf/in2)
Fuel filter .................................................. ........................ Bosch in-line filter ’canister’ type

the truck appeears to run fine, it just takes for ever to start.

Ok, so after a new fuel pump I now have 36 psi at idle. Runs much better now!
