Hey guys im just wondering how i could make a set of american racing AR767 wheels fit my 98 disco, If i get them custom drilled and stayed at the normal 16" wheel? Spacers? lug nuts?

There are lots of black steelie wheels out there with the correct off-set and lug pattern, why buy something that doesn't work right out of the box?

 

I agree with DM all the way. The last thing you need to have happen is your wheels coming apart because of some crazy modification. Rotational forces on a vehicle that heavy can play hell on yoou in a big hurry! Do you need that to look cool?

 

I just bought a used set of ProComp 87 series, not sure if they are still available but it has part #s on the website. Wheel Finder
Not sure if youre after 15" or 16" but they show both with different backspacing.

 

I just like American Racing wheels and the red pinstripe on it. Black steelies is what im looking for i just wanted them to look a little better then Natos.

 

Take a day this weekend and rattle-can yours black. I did, and love it. Just take your time to prime and let things dry in-between coats and you'll be happy.

Don't have any good close ups...don't know why. It took me a solid day (rainy and cold) to get these done. Only wanted to do it once, so I let things dry, sanded in between coats, etc,...I'll try to get some good closer up pics taken sooner than later.

Woo, that's a big step....but I may do it, looks killer. How many cans did it take?

 

It was. My wheels were kind of beat because the PO didn't like to clean the brake dust off, so it has literally eaten through the clear coat and paint in some places. The original Kalahari concept vehicle had black wheels, so that was the look I was going for. Just took my time and everything turned out GREAT...IMHO at least

Started by sanding down and scuffing up the surface with sandpaper and brillo pads, then cleaned with a rag and some rubbing alcohol.

2 Cans of Duplicolor Self Etching Primer (only came in olive drab)
3 Cans of Rustoleum Automotive Primer (black)
2 1/2 Cans of Rustoleum High Performance Wheel Paint (black)
1 1/2 Cans of Duplicolor Automotive Semi-Gloss Clear Coat
