So I've got these super bright flashlights from my work place, hft. They hold 3 1.5V batteries. If I wire them in series would I need three or eight in series to be almost equvalent to 12v?

 

They are the
blue oval lights if anybody is wondering. I saw a guy do this on his bronco, pretty cook and super bright

 

How far are you from Macon?

If you put three in series that would use 13.5 volts, about right for a Rover electrical system (which really is not 12.00 volts).

 

I've got 4 lights so far, taken out the batteries and rear cover. I have my soldering iron and rosin flux core and I'm probably going to use some speaker wire to solder the + to the - on the light. Just waiting for a response.

RIght now the wire is soldered to the (-), do I connect it to the (+) right below it or the one all the way to the bottom left?

i'd go bottom left. Can't you just touch em to the battery and see what works?

 

do you have one of the phone charger or printer transformers that has 110 i9nput and 12 vdc output?

Or one of those jumper boxes? If you end up shorting your car battery, you'll be in for a nasty surprise!!!!

 

The positive and negative that don't just go to the battery next to them are the ones you should use, looks to me like top left and bottom right.

 

Oooo good catch, makes things super simple now haha. Well I guess I just gotta solder the wires now..
