Default MJ 98 50th aniv model

Will post the images on Facebook and my website later.
Got a 98 in the Anniversary GOLD color, LSE drove home from Atlanta Ran PERFECT. Is this LIKE the Corvette 50th we have ALL where marked as 50th but the Color Combo was the one that they designated as the 50th. I THOUGHT I was getting one like Mutley was, 4wd brush buster for fun. Now I am worried I bought one that is worth something and should NOT knock Down small trees and pull stumps.
Gave $4K has 98,157 miles and EVERYTHING except the Cruise Control works BUT I saw some broken Vac lines so that might be it's problem.
Put on the Ultrgauge and no codes and ran a 175 deg at 83 mph for ALMOST 2 hours. When slowed down and idle about 212 to 214, hit the gas and back down QUICK so looking good.
Dent in LF door but the CLEAR scuff protection DID NOT TEAR so that is a ???
Any input would be great, thank you.

SWMBO might take a liking to it....

Sounds like thermostat is either missing or sticking open. I have a 180F and mine ran 183 today at 70. And I only touched 205 when sitting idling with AC on for over 30 minutes. Would suggest new stat and radiator flush. 175 at 2500 - 3000 rpm does not seem right for a 195 or a 180.

I would think that you did buy something to nice for knocking down small trees with.... I mean it sounds nice enough to the point where if something goes wrong and breaks its a "oh $hit" and not a "who cares its a beater" my $0.02

Your thermostat is bad, thats why it ran cold on the highway and heated up while at a stop light.

Yes, this one is to nice for blazing your own trails.

Hope just bad stat. A missing stat could be a strong indication of an overheating problem that was "fixed" by removing the stat. I know you did not want to think about that, having recently purchased another engine.

The dealer a buy here pay here had his grease monkey check it out and said there was a EURO STAT that was higher than in the US the CBS (coefficient of Bull ****) meter went of but with the ULTRA I could drive it with no worries at all.
Rovers North has a FULL hose kit so I think I will get that, a stat and flush the cooling system.
Thank all for the input pictures will be on www.leatherique.com under MJ or 1998 Disco. Will do the interior up with our stuff since all it needs is the treatment and some touch-up dye.
I need to be a sponsor on this site since we are developing products for these cars for the trim.

Claims from the PO was NEVER overheated and nothing LOOKED cooked like my P38 did. I DO HAVE a WHOLE parts unit since I can not get the title for it. I can but not Worth the trouble.

Yes along with body colored trim instead of black trim.
Also wood interior trim in the spots it would normally be black.
Also a embossed "50th" carpeted cargo mat.
1998 model year only and only with the LSE trim, also 50th stickers on the rear cargo windows.
