Modified my front bumper
I was tired of looking at my bumper with one missing fog light and the other hanging, so I went to take the other out and remove the assemblies altogether - but ended up taking it a step a further...
Took off the lower bumper, removed fogs, cut bumper ends, forever blacked the bumper ends, added middle bumper piece.
I love it, and now I don't need to spend big dolla's on an aftermarket bumper...until I need a winch of course!
Pictures: 1-before, 2-after removing lower bumper (fangs look), 3-after cutting end pieces, 4-after adding middle bumper piece, 5-complete after forever black

Razor blade...just made a pilot cut along the crease, went through the cut again with light pressure, then cut right through quite easily.

Bumper
Excellent job! I think I will tackle this one mine as I have a similar appearance issue with my '96.
Our trucks ain't heavy though....it's not like they buckle 3 to 4 ton ramps or anything.

That does look good! I'm still trying to decide whether to repair my right front fog light trim, or lose the lower trim completely. I would so miss the fog lights though.
PS. I am jealous of you actually being able to work on your vehicle and not deal with a foot of snow!

That does look good! I'm still trying to decide whether to repair my right front fog light trim, or lose the lower trim completely. I would so miss the fog lights though.

I obviously vote for hacking the fogs off!
Advantages: free, no cost to fix/repair/replace expensive fogs, better approach angle, better mpg's with weight loss and you can always add more lights!
Because I am to lazy to search for this myself can you post a link to this hidden winch mount please?
