Morning Knock

I put a 1/2" ratchet wrench on the crank and turn em out. Shouldn't come out hard, turn new ones back over top same way. The cap bolts should be replaced, TTY.

Noted, any reason to replace the con-rod bolts?

Strike that, I assumed you meant the main bearing caps. Noted, new con-rod cap bolts are needed. Much obliged.

TTY stands for Torque To Yield, they're stretch bolts, one use and never trust them to last more than once especially when old.

Yeah I just read an absolute dumpster-fire of a thread over at the LRO forum which hotly contests this topic. I think you may be familiar with it :P

I'll be playing it safe and getting all new con-rod bolts. Cheers again.
