I forgot to thank you Tweak for the procedure. Of course I already did the hard way but will use yours next time.

Default can we have a contest?

I actually forgot about this other method since I rarely have to reset the ECU... I generally try not to mess with the plugs and flimsy wires under the glove box. I know how delicate they are. Plus you're fiddling with interior trim pieces and pastic rivets.

We could have a contest to see which way is faster. lol

under the hood pull the Fuel Injection Fuse... this just cuts the power to the ECM and nothing else.

well I've done mine plenty of times, I only have one plastic clip holding the passenger side cardboard cover thing so it only takes me a sec. also it only clears one code at a time, if you do it the other way it wipes them all out rather than showing you the next one.

Cosmo:

Are you saying this will clear the ECU? Will it reset the CEL as well?

Will it cause any new problems?

Is that for the 95 and earlier or will it work on a 97.

Pulling the fuel injection fuse will clear the CEL. Done it myself a few times.

So I just found what seems to be a pretty string leak coming from the rear of my passenger head. Colodisco, any chance of a writeup to save the next poor guy (probably me) that needs to do head gaskets?

Dude - get your passenger to the Hospital first, THEN worry about the disco!

He won't last long with all that pretty string coming from his head...

Sorry Turf...it was TOO good to pass up.

I had that coming. Its these darned mobile uploads. Too tough to type out anything sensible and I couldn't find the edit button fast enough
So to CLARIFY the issue at hand is a STRONG leak from the rear of the passenger HEAD GASKET (or at least as best I can tell). I think its time I take the (gulp) head gasket leap.
