I have been running 85w-140 el' cheapo gear lube for 3 years with no problems.*

Exactly...i've said depending on your ride..not one ride is the same...some like somethings others dont, some likes synthetics others dont...

Maybe I'll switch back to 80/90

just wanted to update...i did switch my diffs back to 80w90 and it is a bit smoother...not as drastic as the transfer case was but its def smoother....i think the biggest thing was my transfer case DID NOT like 140 weight fluid...i think in the diffs 140 is just fine
