73,400 miles. Needs: fuel pump, 1 tire, 72k service. Runs good, until the fp screws things up.

Need to sell ASAP, make me an offer.

Located in Winston-Salem, NC. Yes, this IS a 5 speed manual transmission.

I would think that for $100 he could replace the fuel pump himself and sell a vehicle that runs properly.

 

fp, yes, I meant "Fuel Pump" and was in a hurry. My apologies for not being clear. Chris-bob assumes that I am whole and capable of doing the work. If I could physically do the repairs I most definitely would.

Please note that I don't really know the status on the fuel pump. The tech I took it to hooked it to the computer and received NO ERROR CODES; so he was guessing at possible problems.

He's a crook as he informed me yesterday that the fuel pump alone would cost over 800. I looked on Atlantic British web sit and the possibles (2 pumps) were around 3 to 500, depending on which pump my truck took.

I've gotten to the point that I just don't trust anyone any longer. I decided to offer the readers of this forum my truck one last time as I'm much more confident that someone here knows how great it can be; especially the 97 model SD with the manual tranny.

If the right person finds this truck the potential for it is really awesome. If no one buys it soon though, CarMax will get it and it'll go to some stupid clutch and the truck will never realize its potential. Not my problem any longer.

I'm not sure he's a crook, but maybe just ignorant of the cheaper places to get parts. He probably just called the dealer.

 

I appreciate the sentiment; however, I've had him lie to me and not fulfill his promises half a dozen times and I've only known him a week!

I honestly bend over backwards to give people all opportunities and benefits of doubt, but there comes a point... Know what I mean?

There have been many threads and a write-up regarding fuel pump replacement. Quick and simple. You could even do it with a phillip screw driver and 2 wrenches. I didn't look it up, but the proline pump is only $100.LAND ROVER PARTS - FUEL PUMP/SENDING UNIT RANGE ROVER & DISCOVERY

I personally would not pay more than $2k for a Disco in great shape that only needed a fuel pump.
