You can get 1/4" drive ratchet/sockets in there. Just have to contort your body.

I am battling that myself now. I have tried to problem solve my cruise issues... Been through two different ECU's and no luck so far. I have just used a set of thin needle nose or locking pliers and was able to hand loosen the nut the rest of the way to remove ECU. Also you do not have to take glove box out, just lift the spring tabs on each side and "drop" the glove box down.

Cool Cruise control ecu

Thanks for the advice. Finally got it laying down on my back. Thanks for the advice. At least when I turn on master switch, it makes a click noise. Only thing left to replace is switch on steering wheel. Everything else has been replaced.

Before the steering wheel, you can meter at the cruise ECU connector to see if the wheel switches work.

I'm also having problems with my cruise control. I first looked at the vacuum tube and it was fine but next started looking at the actuator. I pressed the actuator in while my finger was over the vacuum tube hole and the actuator did not say pressed in. It returned to it's normal inactive state rather quickly. Seems to me it should have stayed compressed.
