Default Need Help with 96 Disco, Will only go while Diff is in lock

I bought a 96 Land Rover Discovery1, Kalahari Edition and was told that it was stuck in Diff Lock. However it seems to engage in high and low diff lock fine as well fully goes in H and L diff unlock. And I am lost because while it is unlocked and fully engaged it will not go anywhere. It seems to be in neautral, Park will not even work? When I lock in the diff H or L it runs great. Can somwone please help me in this matter. Thanks

There is something in the drive line broken, or someone removed a driveshaft for some reason. When its unlocked all the power is going to the free spinning end.

Default no drive

check you have 2 drive shafts. if so, put it in "no difflock" positon, chock wheels first, climb under the vehicle and turn each drive shaft, rear then front, the one that turns indicates the bit that is broken, front or back, then pull the end apart to inspect, you may need a small bar to turn it.

cheers

I was told when I bought my disco it need a swivel joint and also the part came with this, could replacing this solve the problem? I have been tole so many things, this is the reason I joined this formu bc everything I seen that made sence came from all of you. So I am going down to today and doing all of the above and let you all know what I have found and I hope we can go from there, Thanks to all of you who responded. I hope to get this one repair done so that I can drive it, I was told I would ruin it if I drove it, is this true as well?

OK, so both drive shafts are installed, correct? What have you checked/tested so far, and how did you do it? The testing method is very important, as an improper test can lead to an incorrect diagnosis, and unnecessary part replacement.
