Default Need Help...Bolt size and thread pitch for Water Pump

Ok, so in a previous post I noted the top right long bolt that goes from the pump, through the timing chain cover and into the block was frozen and the head is going to twist off...

Well the pump finally went today and I need to do the dirty. Does anyone know offhand what the pitch and size of that bolt? Can I go to Home Depot or Lowes and get it or will I have to go to the dealer? I need to get this done fairly quickly as it's my DD. I will prob change all the bolts out while I'm at it so any help is greatly appreciated.

Unlikely to find at hardware store. If there is a salvage yard near you, go pull one.

No unfortunately not too many yards by me and even with that, even less LR's. Thx tho. Maybe I'll get a hold of Will or PT.

Not sure if this will help but I went out and measured up my spare pump bolt. It is 5'' long with a 11mm head. Meaning you need a 11mm socket to connect to it. The shank thickness is 5/16. The threads are mm and course thread. I did not have a mm ruler or thread gage sorry. You should be able to get this at an auto parts store. They carry a good supply of mm and standard. Knowing the shank size and that it is mm course thread will get you what you need at the parts store. Also if you pull your power steering resevoir mount bolt off. It is the same thread as the pump bolt, just shorter. The steering resevoir bolt is attached next to the top drivers side of the radiator.

Pitch is 5/16th UNC prob is, there are 4 different bolt lengths ranging from 2 1/4 or so to 6" or so. I did the nasty and ordered the bolt kit from AB, the kit was 10 bucks but unfortunately, need it overnight so bend over. We'll see what happens.

All the water pump bolts that thread in to the block are grade 5 5/16 UNC (18 tpi), available at any real hardware store.

Since you've already ordered them I was mostly posting for anyone else who finds themselves in the same situation. My local Ace Hardware keeps sizes up to 6 or 6 1/2 inches.
