Default Need Help with name of suspension component

Hey Everyone. I just bought my first Landrover. D1 1998. I'm completely out of my depth...with cars in general! This attached suspension component is rusty and will need to be replaced. What is the component called?? Any and all help is appreciated.

. Could someone please tell me what this component outlined in blue is called.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like that before. Looks like some sort of underbody brush guard or something…

Does that mean I can remove it or is it there to stay?

Believe it is supposed to protect steering bits. Not structural.

I have a '98 as well. I do not have that item - it is aftermarket (even with a 2" lift the PO installed). So, it is not necessary for the vehicle to function as it came off the line.
