If you were closer I'd say bring it and some beer over, I have all the tools and a bbq smoker. Makes for a nice day of wrenching.

The whole reason for these forums is for helping one another, there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.
Friendly banter is always fun and welcome, but personal attacks will not be tolerated.
We can all have a difference of opinion but remember that this forum is a Dictatorship and that I am the Dick.
We have people of varying degrees of skill on here, from the 17yr old who only knows how to pump gas but wants to learn to the old guy with dial up who has owned nothing but Rovers for 35+ yrs.
If we cannot all get along I will go Qaddafi and start putting infractions on people, and remember the part about this being a Dictatorship? That means I can pick and choose as well as carpet bomb everyone involved if I so desire.
SO KNOCK IT OFF!!

Well played Spike on getting the forum and this discussion back to its original purpose. I won't knock anyone off the monkey bars as long as they don't push me. Fyi, Tater is a bad term in my fair state for a person that is a graduate or fan of that agricultural college in the upstate.

guys does it matter where I get the gasket from? I know in my profession they're are 3 classes of parts and cheap will get you crap. Does that hold true for a rubber gasket? I see these as cheap as 3 bucks a piece.

Ugh, I'm biased now but every aftermarket gasket or hose I have used so far has screwed me. I wouldn't even think of going aftermarket on a thermostat btw. Every LR gasket, which I ended up springing the extra cash for in the end, has worked perfectly. ymmv, if you like to learn by doing things more than once, by all means buy the cheapest gaskets you can find

PS. After you have to take the intake manifold off for the second time in the same night, you learn pretty quick that saving a couple bucks just wasn't worth it.

Been over two months now and still looks like this underneath. Yes, it is full. So I think they work pretty well.
