Default Neutral Alarm Not Buzzing

98 Disco. The CDL works just fine and the light illuminates when engaged but it doesn't buzz when in neutral. What should I check for? I have read about wires coming out of the transfer case but I don't see anything when I roll underneath. Any help would be appreciated.

The buzzer must be only fitted to US disco's, no buzzer on Aussie vehicles or UK ones that i'm aware of.

Mine's intermittent, Since its pretty obvious when in neutral I'm not to concerned about it although seeing how I just pulled the tranny and transfer case I should probably use this opportunity to fix it.

Good to know I am not the only one. I was coming out of Red Rocks park in Nevada and when I shifted from low to high it didn't go all the way in and kept popping out. I had to pull back hard to get it fully engage in high. The buzzer would have been nice as it would have alerted me to the fact that it wasn't 100% in high.

Probably now is as good a time as any to dig under your console to clean and lube up the CDL shifter box and t-case linkage........ Shouldn't pop out of gear, it should click easily into low/high, locked/unlocked and neutral. If it feels like your shifting rubber, nothing positive, (click, click) then dig in. When mine was popping out of gear the shifter socket was cracked - it's just nylon..... just say'n. I have no more neutral safety switch (gutted).

Sometimes mine buzzes, sometimes the light flickers. But it shifts smooth and doesn't pop out. Knowing my luck I'd start trying to fix it and break or find more broken stuff

....finding broken stuff is a good thing, not a bad thing. These trucks are not that hard nor that expensive to fix.

Agreed, but time to fix is my issue. especially after a four hour fog light install Thursday night. Tried to use factory fog wiring for my new LEDs. I should've known better lol
