New $20 fuel pump
I ordered one as a spare, too.
I replaced just the pump two years ago while out in Moab with one from CarQuest. You can hear it running when turning the key to Position 2. Been going strong with no problem. I just used reg fuel line and haven't had any issues. One thing to take note on is not to kink the new line when installing the pump. The stock plastic straw tubing is much more flexible than runber fuel line. So put a loop in the line when installing it. This will allow for the fuel pump assembly to compress as its supposed to without kinking the fuel line.
Also be careful the hose clamps don't touch any electrical connections and short it out.

Hey Bill; 1973 Land Rover Series 3
Add a inch to the wheel base and a 200tdi, fingers crossed it will all come together.

I used fuel injection clamps when I did mine years ago, instead of the standard worm drive clamps. They seal better and are actually designed for the higher pressure in our fuel lines.
As mentioned, be very careful orienting the clamps so they don't touch the electrical connections.
