Default New radiator now trans cooling line leaking 98 Disco I

Looking for a good picture of where all these trans cooling lines go that run from the radiator. After a new radiator install the bottom line on the drivers side is coating the underside with trans fluid. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Its common for the metal pipe sections to rub and wear thru or the joint from metal to rubber to fail, takes both pipes off and have a hydraulic hose supplier fit new replaceable braided hose and fittings added.

When you reinstalled the AutoTrans cooler lines(drivers side) did you remember to replace the O-rings? Oil Cooler Pipe O-Ring (ESR1594L Same Fit As Part # ESR1594L ) - Land Rover gaskets and seals from Atlantic British

When you installed the line adaptors ESR1262 http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/ESR1262G did you use some (NOT A LOT) pipe sealant on the side going into the cooler?

The top line runs from the front cooler to the cooler in the radiator. Bottom line runs from the cooler in the radiator to the transmission. Transmission Cooler Pipe Kit For Land Rovers And Range Rovers

I did replace the o-rings. I also used a small amount of pipe fitting sealant.
The bottom one was really rusty and I suspect that one is the problem. Was thinking of ordering a new line but was not sure how to tell what the number is on that bottom line.

The only good thing is the passenger side is very dry so no leak there.

Bottom is UBP101030 Pipe - Oil Cooler To Transmission - Upper Transmission (UBP101030 Same Fit As Part # UBP101030 ) - Land Rover pipes from Atlantic British
But if one line is rusty the others are on the way out. If you can swing it buy a 3 line kit. Also check the engine oil cooler lines. If old/rusty replace them or risk fire.

If you take these lines loose on the transmission side do you lose a lot of trans fluid?

Also when you say chance for fire, is the trans fluid flammable? I see one line coming from radiator to oil cooler. Where does the other oil cooler line run to assuming there are two of them?

" chance for fire" is re: the engine oil cooler lines. Those are the 2 on the Passenger Side mounted to the internal oil cooler in the radiator. Like this> Trailhead 4X4 & Offroad and this
> NAS Defender oil line upgrade

Re: the AT lines: Have a look at the second pic > Land Rover A T Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Line Discovery I UBP101030 Used | eBay

Passenger Side is UBP101020 mounts from the transmission and then to the external oil cooler. Drivers Side is ESR3695 mounts to the external oil cooler then to the TOP of the radiator (internal oil cooler). Next on the Drivers Side is UBP101030 mounts to the BOTTOM of the radiator(internal oil cooler) then back to the transmission. When you buy new lines the (6) o-rings will come with. But double check they are there to avoid a PITA later. I'd still order some spares.

"If you take these lines loose on the transmission side do you lose a lot of trans fluid?" .... No, but you are going to open the lines so just replace the fluid at the same time. Good Luck!
