Default New rotors rubbing

i have replaced my rear rotors and both sides are rubbing on the plastic outer ring s

tub axle mud shield. I ordered the rotors from AB and mud shields were replace about 4 years ago. I have not had any rubbing on the old rotors. What would y’all recommend I do?

I don't see your ABS rings on the inside of the new rotors. I also don't see the rear seal which protects the rear bearing from water/debris in the pics.

I took the abs ring off thinking it was contacting the speed sensor just to test. Then pulled the seal out thinking it was the issue then I saw the issue I have installed them both back in. And confirmed it’s the mud shield.

Spoke with AB and they are sending out a new set of rotors. They said they have never seen such a thing. I will post my findings when the new one arrive

I haven’t done rotors in a while but if I recall correctly, the part of the mud shield where the bolt goes through should be sandwiched between two other parts. Not entirely on the inside.

That doesn’t make a lot of sense to write, but take a closer look at the bolts that hold the caliper.

So update time, I finally had some time to change out the rotors that AB sent and I had much better luck with them. Still a little rubbing but that is normal for the rubber to rub a little on inside to keep out the dirt.

The depth to set the inner seal is important. Some seals are set flush. Others need to be 3 - 4 mm beyond flush.

The seal is set in 4 mm per the book. I was having issues with excessive rubbing on this part, some rubbing is correct but it was way to excessive to the point it was hard to turn after everything was tightened up.
