Default New Windshield

Heading to MOAB at the end of march and the wife ok'd me to replace the rather expensive windshield. Surprisingly I did not find this covered very much. Where has everyone bought their gaskets? Is there a alternative?
Before I shell out $550 for a new windshield I would like to know I checked every option. Have done some searching and cannot find a place more reasonable than $350 for the seals.

Full glass coverage on your truck is $12 a year.
I get all of my glass for free.
My last windshield cost the insurance company almost $700 with seals and installation.

Nationwide.
I have been with the same insurance agent, yes I have a actual agent that I can call or go see and I know them by name, for 15 years.
Full glass on both cars with $0 deductible is $24 per year, towing on both is another $24 per year also includes lockout and emergency fuel.

I am going to call Geico and see if they offer this, if not then I am going to get a quote from nationwide. Might even save some money. I have been with Geico for 2 years and never seen a reduction in my premiums.

Glass is not the expensive part. In fact I think I can get the glass pretty cheap, it is the seals that cost so much.

Ok! Added the $50 deductible to my Rover and the wifes Rabbit with comprehensive. It is now covered. No time deadline on the claim but I am going to wait a month or so to have it done. Policy only went up $20 per month.

OUCH!

That's a new windshield every 3 years!

I have a similar policy with Nationwide - and mine is $24 a YEAR for this coverage.

Yea.. but my entire policy deductable for accidents or whatever under comprehensive is only $50. Accident, deer impact etc etc..

Plus I live in Colorado. I have had 7 windshields destroyed by construction trucks and rocks on the road.
