Get a cargo mat to keep water off of the floor.
You have many many many more years with that truck, dont let alittle rust scare you.

Good to know I underclubbed it. Thanks. Yes, I'm going to fix as much of the flooring as I can in a few weeks. Then paint it so I can hose it out and dry it easily. When I pulled the foam up there was fresh mud still wet from offroading 6 weeks ago! That's a good date as it hasn't rained here for two months. Unreal how much water the sound deadening material holds. No wonder these rot so badly. Only thing on the new floors will be rubber mats.

It just look bad because you have white truck. If you would have red or black you wouldn't even see it.It is true you have lot of years of live in it.On your place I would just go in local hardware store and buy cheapest mig and weld new sheet metal on the top of that floor.Don't cut out old floor .

X2+ spray the crap out of it with rustoleum. I had a Trooper II that I'm really not sure what was holding it together... the frame, floor, truck itself nothing but rust and rot... we just kept welding in a patch here and there to keep it from the rear end falling out and the thing is STILL driving almost 10 years later... HAve to give props to the engine in it... never could kill it. The truck litterally rotted away around it. lol.

Sand it down and put POR 15 on it. I have seen that stuff seal up rust and last forever. Planning on painting my sliders with it after I get them welded to my frame.

That's the plan. Probably won't weld anything. Just going to bolt some aluminum on top of it. Self boaring screws I think my step dad said. He's going to come down and do it with me. Think your right removing it will be more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for the paint tips. I'll look into Por 15 and or rustoleum.

I'll get some pics up when it's done.
