While I do enjoy working on the disco's and find them challenging, I was selling one to buy another car. (Yet another project) Then after I sold it my wife decided she didn't want the other car. (An 87 MB 300 TD) She didn't like the 3rd row seats facing backwards. SOOOO Instead I decided to use Brandon's money to finish the white rover and clean up my current 300D. Personally I think the white rover is a nicer truck, no rust, perfect interior plus it has a LOT of newer stuff already done to it. Sure it has more miles, 80k more but I have a really good base to start with and all in all still have less money in it than I did with my blue one. In GA, even if the car is sitting parked, I still have to carry insurance etc on it. so it's costing me $$$ right now sitting there. This does give me the chance to make the white one right. I'm only allowed so much to work on my projects as most of my cash goes toward a house I'm rebuilding and kids.

Could I have sold the blue one for more? Probably, but that's not what I'm about. I got out of it everything I had in it and got a year worth driving out of it over and above, so I did fine for myself with it. It makes me feel good that it goes on to a home that's going to continue enjoying it and keeping it up.

I also like the fact that people I deal with are happy in the end. As my name goes with that sale and believe it or not there still are people that matters to.

I tend to agree that often doing good things for others tends to be more beneficial even if it is merely feeling good about yourself, although Karma giving you a good deal in return down the road is a nice perk to!

I agree, that is much better way to do it. It's great that both of you are happy with the deal. I hope to acquire another one like that myself.

The big body MB is also a favorite of mine, I had an 86 420SEL that was an awesome road car.

Good Luck to you on finishing your White one, should be an awesome ride when you finish up with it.
