Default Noise and vibration--heater blower

I had both the engine overheating and the A/C blower vibrating like hell on last weekend's fishing trip. It was 95F (35C), really unusual around here.

I could even feel the vibration in the steering wheel, but had to run it at high speed with the heater on at the top of a big hill cause the engine temp was climbing above 212. It did the trick but that was no fun.

Just took the blower off tonight and....see for yourself on attached pic!!!

Needless to say it now runs quiet and moves much more air.

As for the radiator, guess I'll do a good flush and see. The local shops don't want to rod it (say it's too old). Hope it works cause I'll be left with changing the radiator..(thermostat is fine, viscous clutch just changed, hoses new).

Cheers

212 I would not worry about, 220 turn the a/c off and heater on.

Love when animals and stuff get into your HVAC fan.

The fan fresh air intake is directly above fan under the hood. The normal "pollen filter" that runs width of the hood keeps out a lot of stuff, but I also cut a piece of the filter material (cut to fit AC filter material) and shoved it into the fresh air intake, keeps out leaves, etc. My local shop did a good job rodding out my 97 radiator. But now that you know there is a $232 alternative, that is also an option. It may not last as long as the original, but it is about 1/3 the price. Of course you could also have a lot of gunk in front of the radiator trapped between it and the AC condenser.
