O2 Sensors
I’d say the same thing as Walt, if it ain’t broke… but if a 2mpg increase is pretty normal after a replacement, it would be worth it. Has anyone else had a similar fuel economy gain? (I won’t be changing mine unless there’s a pretty good consensus that the fuel gain is significant).
I would change them, but that is just how I do things when I buy an old car. Old sensors become sluggish due to contamination build up on the sensor ceramic cones. Be sure to monitor O2 voltages before and after replacement. New sensors should tend to modulate faster, meaning tighter control of the mixture and better fuel economy. Would you like to save 10 to 20% on fuel?
