Default Oil leaks

Hi
I have had my 95 disco about 6months. It has 182000 miles on her. Engine has been well taken care of and is the strongest part of the vehicle. I did an oil change recently using a synthetic blend 10w40 and have had problems since.
the plug on the pan won’t tighten all the way. I get to almost snug and it gives way and becomes loose again. I ended up putting a new washer and plumbers tape on the bolt
i am still getting a leak
is it the bolt or pan threads that are failing

slso I am getting oil seepage on the top end as well
nee head gasket? Valve cover gasket? Stop leak fluid? Help any input will help
thanks

I'd never personally run synthetic in an old pushrod LR V8. Rotella 15/40w diesel oil is very good for them or 5/40 (for up north cold weather). Oil Drain Plug wise you might have to get a new plug (hopefully the threads in the pan aren't messed up).

I didn’t know you could run diesel oil in a conventional motor... I might have to try next time
what’s the best and safest (engine damage) stop leak additive to use anyone?

Use the Rotella. Change it out now if you can.
