Default Oil Pan Gasket Recommendation Needed

Hi All,

Can someone please recommend a good oil pan gasket to buy?

Also wanted to note that I'm leaking power steering fluid like crazy too. Doesn't look like the reservoir or bottom of it is wet so any ideas of where to check or what might be the problem?

Thanks!

Healthy amount of RTV on the pan. No gasket. Works for me.

Check the lines and fitting of the power steering. Also the box itself. You may have to clean it first then fine the leak.

I'm not the biggest fan of RTV because too much and it breaks off in the pan and clogs the screen in the oil pickup. I can't tell you how many LRs I've bought with this problem.

Oil Pan Gasket (# 602087 Cork/rubber) > https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...et-pr2-payen-2

Or local at any Advance, Autozone, Napa... ( VICTOR REINZ #OS32344 ). If you choose RTV or a gasket just be sure to torque the pan bolts in the sequence in the pic.

Last thought on the Oil Pickup Tube, when you drop the oil pan remove the Pickup (2 bolts) and clean the screen off.

If you have compressed air first put the Oil Pickup in a garbage can with the screen facing down and hit it with some air. Use only about 40psi to knock any big bits off. If no compressed air, no worries.

After the blowout(or not)... Then I would put the Pickup (screen down) in a small metal can and let it soak in carb, oven, or engine cleaner (simple green whatever). Rinse in a bucket of water and let it dry. Sounds like overkill, but you will know 100% the tube is clean...worth the extra effort.

Last when you install the Oil Pickup you will need a new gasket (# ERR3788 ). Unless the Pickup screen or tube is damaged you will NOT need to replace the Oil Pickup.
