Over heating
While in park with the truck on it starts to get hot, but it dosent get hot when I'm driving, I have a 98 land rover discovery, you think it could be a bad radiator?
there's alot to considder here.....start with is there enough coolant in the system ( rad and reservoir full ?) you may have air in the system and it needs to be bled out. are the radiator finns clean ?, If you're low on coolant then you need to find the leak.....
If everything simple checks out ok(coolant level, air in system, etc), I would suspect a bad fan clutch, depending on how many miles there are, possibly water pump.
To cool a car, you only need two things- air flow and coolant flow, but there can be many things that prevent either.

Look in the tech section and find the belt routing diagram, then make sure your belt is routed correctly.
Second you need to do like these guys said and check the coolant level.
I am betting on either a bad water pump or incorrect belt routing.
Typically when a radiator is clogged it only overheats while driving.

I don't know about your year but on the 94 there were two electric fans that came on with the AC was on and also when the truck was getting hot, like if it was not moving or if going slow is heavy traffic. My 94 starting getting hot in traffic many years ago and it was the electric fan.
Also - just recently (I sold my 94) the guy who bought my truck let me know the overheating problem he had was about a bucket of "bugs" in between the AC condenser in front of the radiator and the radiator itself. Seems the fins were farther apart on the AC condensor so the bugs would get through (or parts of the bugs anyway) and get stuck there reducing the flow. I did not verify or see this myself but thats what he told me a few days ago and he says things are fine after he cleaned that. Something similar used to happen on my old Ford Tractor where the radiator would get partially blocked with bugs and trash when I bush-hogged and the grass/weeds were up as high as the front of the tractor.
Just a thought before you get into exotic fixes.
Good luck - smokey73
